#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this year’s #GivingTuesday takes place on November 27th and will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back.
“The Port Aransas Art Center is excited about participating in #GivingTuesday for the first time this year. In fact, 2018 is the first year we have an online giving platform in place that can easily accept donations from all kinds of sources and from people located anywhere in Texas, the U.S. and beyond. Our focus is to generate financial support for our programs for youth, adults and for the Art Center’s daily operational needs. And, we hope to establish #GivingTuesday as an annual “year-end” giving tradition! Your questions, suggestions and charitable donations are welcome.”
Karen Winship Ridout, President
Founded in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y - a community and cultural center in New York City - #GivingTuesday inspired millions of people to give back and support the causes they believe in. Over $300 million was raised online to benefit a broad range of organizations, and much more was given in volunteer hours, donations of food and clothing and acts of kindness.
The Port Aransas Art Center would like to be part of the positive energy of #GivingTuesday, and we hope generous contributors will help our nonprofit organization reach the conclusion of 2018 in a solid financial position. Thank you for considering a donation this November!
